Safety in Abiding in the Presence of God July 26, 2012

Hey, precious saints of God! It is my pleasure today to let you see how Psalm 91 is part of the prayer blanket that we pray every day.
If you go to our website www.womenwhopray.net and click on the prayer blanket for the day, like today's is Thursday's prayer blanket, you will see Psalm 91 about 2/3 way through the prayer blanket...
I've prayed it every day for 9 full years...and many times before that but not as a daily prayer...more for when we were traveling...or when I felt impending danger...
I pray this by memory now...and have for 2-3 years...and you might think that I tire of it...
I don't!! I never tire of this precious prayer of promises for safety...
As you read...remind yourself that abide means to stay...to dwell...and it is such a vastly rich place to remain...
Since I share the secret place that the LORD and I had been in for years before...I say it in 1st person plural...I say we instead of and our instead of we...
Praying this prayer brings such peace...listen and rest in these words...
91 We who dwell in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
We will say of the Lord, “He is our refuge and our fortress;
our God, in Him we will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver us from the snare of the fowler[a]
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover us with His feathers,
And under His wings we shall take refuge;
His truth shall be our shield and buckler.
We shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
A thousand may fall at our side,
And ten thousand at our right hand;
But it shall not come near us.
Only with our eyes shall we look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
Because we have made the Lord, who is our refuge,
Even the Most High, our dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall us,
Nor shall any plague come near our dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over us,
To keep us in all our ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear us up,
Lest we dash our foot against a stone.
13 We shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent we shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because we have set our love upon Him, therefore He will deliver us;
He will set us on high, because we have known His name.
15 We shall call upon Him, and He will answer us;
He will be with us in trouble;
He will deliver us and honor us.
16 With long life He will satisfy us,
And show us His salvation.”
I fell in love with this picture.  It so depicts that place of rest... He shall cover us with His feathers, And under His wings we shall take refuge.  I do indeed love abiding right here like that baby bird...in fact, can't you tell...the one on the left is me.
Is that one on the right, you?
Until the next time...
